2.5 Examples

It is important to set the GPG_TTY environment variable in your login shell, for example in the ~/.bashrc init script:

  export GPG_TTY=$(tty)

If you enabled the Ssh Agent Support, you also need to tell ssh about it by adding this to your init script:

unset SSH_AGENT_PID
if [ "${gnupg_SSH_AUTH_SOCK_by:-0}" -ne $$ ]; then
  export SSH_AUTH_SOCK="${HOME}/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh"
